Narratives of Home on the Fringe of Tehran: The Case of Shahriar County

Abstract This paper focuses on the notion of home as a narrative one’s lived experience that clashes with planners’ understanding housing and policies, using case study Shahriar County, located western fringe metropolitan area Tehran. Following Heidegger, feeling is fundamental aspect human existence. From this perspective, policies spatial planning impact sense in geographical context. The empirical analysis based an overview institutional changes since Islamic Revolution 1979, interviews inhabitants Shahriar. results indicate Iran has developed particular form neoliberal, speculative model urban development, which segregation seclusion uneven regional development are noteworthy.
